Henry Buckingham (politician)

Sir Henry Cecil Buckingham CBE (2 May 1867 – 1 August 1931)〔(Historical list of MPs: G (part 2) )〕 was a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom.
He was elected at the 1922 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Guildford constituency in Surrey, and held the seat in three further general elections until he died in office in 1931, aged 64.
He was knighted in 1911,〔The knighthood was gazetted in the ''London Gazette'' Issue 28512 published on the 11 July 1911, page 27 of 108. However, his first name was mis-splelt as "Harvey", and a correction was issued in the ''London Gazette'' Issue 28576 published on the 30 January 1912, page 1 of 72〕 and awarded a CBE in 1920 for his work as a member of the City of London Advisory Committee of the Ministry of National Service.〔''London Gazette'' Issue 31840 published on the 26 March 1920, page 6 of 114〕
